I’ve called out my Democratic opponent, Derek Kilmer, for joining Republicans to sign a letter supporting Mitt Romney’s plan to cut Social Security. Ever since, some of his supporters have ramped up their attacks on me.

That’s OK. It just means we need to fight harder for what’s right.

What’s right is protecting and expanding Social Security.

What’s right is expanding Medicare to cover everyone.

What’s right is making sure no one dies of drug addiction because they live in a county without a single treatment facility that takes Medicaid. That’s the situation in Grays Harbor right now under Kilmer’s leadership.

Now more than ever, we need universal healthcare, housing, and jobs. We need to demilitarize the police and reallocate funding from the police to social services.
