North Carolina’s Medicaid Expansion is a lifeline for more than 670,000 of our neighbors — and it doesn’t just benefit them. Funding through Medicaid helps keep rural hospitals open, strengthens our entire health care system, and boosts our economy.
John, the risk of the Medicaid system collapsing is real — experts have estimated that more than 900,000 North Carolinians could lose coverage under Medicaid, and even more folks might lose their Medicaid coverage because of struggling to stay enrolled. Without the access to care they have now, North Carolinians will get sick, and families will suffer massive financial burdens. Josh’s first duty to our state is to keep our people safe and healthy. That includes fighting to protect Medicaid coverage for the over 3 million North Carolinians currently enrolled.
