Dear Friend,
It may feel hopeless to send comments to an administration that doesn't want to hear from us. But that's exactly what they're counting on -- that we'll give up.
Right now, the Trump administration is trying to gut the Roadless Area Conservation Rule -- more commonly known as the "Roadless Rule" -- which protects nearly 60 million acres of our wildest national forests. To avoid public backlash, they've cut the comment period down to just 21 days. That's a fraction of the usual two-month-plus comment periods, and does not even compare to the 18-month public process the agency followed to create the Rule in 2001!
History shows that our voices do matter. In 2001, over 1.5 million people submitted supportive comments on the Roadless Rule. That outpouring made the Rule a reality -- and a flood of comments today could stop Trump's attack.
Speaking out now:
-
Proves that the Roadless Rule -- and protecting our public lands -- is still hugely popular ✅
-
Builds momentum for Congress to pass permanent protections 🏛️
-
Makes it harder for this administration to ignore us 📢
Time is short. Let's make noise they can't ignore. Add your comment today before the September 19 deadline! |
