What Trump is doing with the National Guard in Washington, D.C. is not about fighting crime or keeping people safe. And it isn’t just about intimidation, it's also a rehearsal. Every checkpoint, every armored vehicle, every overwhelming show of force is training for how to control and subdue America’s cities.

Trump tested it in Los Angeles. He escalated it in D.C. And now, more cities are in his crosshairs. This cannot become our new normal. We need Congress to step in and stop Trump's reckless, authoritarian deployment of the National Guard into our communities.
