One of Alexandria’s colleagues said they were “shocked” to see how hostile
members of her own party were towards Alexandria from the moment she
arrived in Congress — and clearly she still faces hostility to this day.

But what they call “radical,” Alexandria believes is common sense.

In the wealthiest nation in the history of the world, when a person gets
sick, they shouldn’t go bankrupt. Common sense.

A minimum wage should cover the minimum cost to live. Common sense.

When your landlord jacks up your rent overnight, or housing prices
skyrocket because Wall Street treats our housing market like a casino,
your government should fight for your ability to keep an affordable roof
over your head.

And our elected officials should take on abuses of corporate greed
everywhere they find it.

If this is what makes us “radical,” then we wear that label proudly.

from Medicare for All to democratizing fundraising power in politics.
