Robert Kennedy Jr. is throwing the nation’s public health into crisis with
his anti-vaccine policies.
Trump’s Health and Human Services (HHS) Director is ignoring scientific
consensus, endangering the lives of children, and making his outlandish
conspiracy theories into public policy. RFK Jr. fired the CDC Director
after she reportedly refused to act as a rubber-stamp for his dangerous
health policies.^1 Then, he installed an acting CDC Director with no
medical or scientific background who advocated for unproven COVID
treatments.^2
In a scathing New York Times op-ed, Senator Bernie Sanders demanded that
RFK Jr. resign because of his “crusade against vaccines” and anti-science
policies. ^3 Over 1,000 current and former HHS workers also spoke out and
sent a letter to Congress calling for RFK Jr.’s resignation.^4 There is
only one way forward to save America from a public health emergency and
countless unnecessary deaths: RFK Jr. must step down.

“The reality is that Secretary Kennedy has profited from and built a
career on sowing mistrust in vaccines,” Sen. Sanders wrote in the Times.
“Now, as head of H.H.S., he is using his authority to launch a full-blown
war on science, on public health and on truth itself.”^5
The Surgeon General in Florida under Governor Ron DeSantis just said the
state will end all vaccine mandates.^6 RFK Jr. and Trump’s far-right,
anti-science ideology and disinformation campaigns will lead to fewer
children being vaccinated, and so expose all children to serious risks.
The American health emergency is coming if nothing changes at HHS. Our
leaders in the House and Senate must immediately join Senator Sanders and
call on RFK Jr. to resign.
