Let’s Support a Push in Congress to Honor God’s Word

Turning the page of a Bible

Dear John,

Congressman Michael Cloud (R-TX), an advisory board member of our sister ministry, Christians Engaged, has introduced a resolution (H.J. Res. 118) to recognize September 12 as the National Day of the Bible—and we need your help to make this happen.

Together, Representatives Cloud and Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA) are leading this incredible effort to honor the date in 1782 when the Continental Congress approved the first English-language Bible printed in America, known as the Aitken Bible or “The Bible of the Revolution.”

This Congressional resolution acknowledges the Bible as a cornerstone of liberty and self-governance in our nation’s history. It encourages schools, churches, and communities to pause on September 12 to reflect on the importance of God’s Word.

Family Policy Alliance and Christians Engaged are honored to be listed as supporters of this resolution, as we are leading what we believe could be the largest Bible reading event in U.S. History next year – America Reads the Bible.

As national organizations backed by your support, we are doing everything we can to help these members of Congress in this effort.

This is where you come in. Are you a person of faith who wants to make a difference in our nation?

Can you make a call today to the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, at 202-225-3115? Ask him to support H.J. Resolution 118 – designating September 12, 2025, as “The National Day of the Bible.”

Then call Congressman Michael Cloud’s office at 202-225-7742 and thank him for authoring this important resolution.

If you have additional time, please call the members of the House Oversight Committee and ask them to support this effort over the next couple days. The members and the links to their websites are on this page.

We believe this is more than a Bible resolution. It is a powerful reminder for our nation that God’s Word still has the power to renew hearts, strengthen families, and restore us all.

Mark your calendar for September 12 and join us in honoring the Bible in your home, church, or community.

We also encourage you to look ahead to America Reads the Bible, a nationwide movement that our team is leading April 18-25, 2026, in Washington, D.C., with 84 hours of our national leaders reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation from the Museum of the Bible’s World State Theater.

Learn more at AmericaReadsTheBible.com and plan on joining us in Washington, D.C. or on the livestream Join the mobilization efforts to see every church, every business, and every family saturated in the Word of God during the critical 250th birthday year of America.

Together, let’s celebrate and recommit ourselves to the transforming truth of God’s Word.
