Hey John,

The Democratic primary fight in California’s 34th district is a big one
between AIPAC-backed incumbent Rep. Jimmy Gomez and pro-human rights
candidate Angela Gonzales-Torres.

Angela is Justice Democrats’ newest 2026 endorsement, and we couldn’t be
more proud to support her at a time when we desperately need more members
of Congress willing to stand up and speak out against genocide.

Last cycle, her opponent was one of the top 5 recipients of AIPAC Super
PAC spending, receiving $2.3 million — in a cycle where they spent over
$100 million to undermine our democracy.

And it paid off: Jimmy refused to cosponsor the only bill in Congress that
called for a ceasefire in Gaza, and repeatedly voted to arm the Israeli
military with the bombs and weapons they are using to commit a genocide
against Palestinians.

Unlike Jimmy, Angela won’t take a penny from AIPAC (or the other many
lobbies that fund Jimmy’s campaign, like crypto super PACs or real estate
developers). Instead, she’ll listen to the majority of Democratic voters
in CA-34 and nationwide, sign on to the bill calling for a ceasefire, and
support the Block the Bombs Act to stop the U.S. from sending more weapons
to Israel’s government.
