I want my son to have the same opportunities I did.

John,

This week was the first week back to school — and this week was Hart's first day of Kindergarten! I'm not sure who was more excited — Hart or his parents!

Hartley with his parents before his first day of school!

(Hartley on his first day of Kindergarten, and yes, he did say he wants to be the State Treasurer)

So proud of my not-so-little cheese curd and all that's ahead.

As a mom, I want my son Hartley to have the same opportunities I did: great public schools, inspiring teachers, and a community that believes in investing in our kids' futures.

That's why I've fought so hard for Wisconsin families. Over the past seven years — as State Treasurer and now as Secretary of State — I've been proud to help deliver record-breaking funds to our public schools. But it's not enough.

We have a real chance to change the way things are done in Madison. Not just to play defense against bad Republican bills, but to actually pass policies that fully fund our public schools and strengthen every corner of our state.

Because at the end of the day, this is about building a Wisconsin where every child has the tools to thrive.

That's the future I want for my son, and for every Wisconsin kid.

Let's get back to basics, back to investing in our public schools, and back to building a Wisconsin that works for everyone.

More soon,

Sarah
