Friend,
You may have seen reports from the recent election in Georgia of voters standing in long lines, waiting for 5 hours—and sometimes longer—to vote.

Why were the lines so long? State and local Republican officials closed polling places in counties with large numbers of poor and African-American voters. The polling places that remained open did not receive enough voting machines. Additionally, thousands of voters who had requested absentee ballots because of Coronavirus never received their ballots in the mail.

While most folks would rightly see this as cruel and likely illegal, our opponent Jason Smith has made his career passing racist voter suppression laws, working to spread the hateful infection as far as his power will allow.

Hard-working families in Missouri’s 8th District don’t need heartless, ideological thought experiments. This is America. If nothing else, we deserve a representative who will fight for our right to vote. Can you help fire Jason Smith in November by giving $10, $20.20 or more? We have set a goal today to reach $2500 in individual contributions, so any amount you can give helps. [[link removed]]

Kathy believes that our democracy is healthier, not weaker, when more people vote. Ensuring Americans can vote and trust the results is paramount for moving our country past the destruction of Trumpism.
