I already shared the news with you that we will present the Journalists of Gaza with the Gibran Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Reporting at the 22nd Annual Kahlil Gibran Spirit of Humanity Awards Gala on Thursday October 23, 2025 in Washington, D.C. These extraordinary journalists have bravely born witness to the genocide in Gaza while being targeted themselves. The Committee to Protect Journalists calls that targeting “the deadliest and most deliberate effort to kill and silence journalists that [we have] ever documented.

Joining us to accept the award on behalf of the journalists of Gaza will be award-winning photojournalist Motaz Azaiza .

While the journalists of Gaza do all they can to bear witness, we too must continue to speak truth to power in whatever forums we have access to. Earlier this week, Jim did just that on the BBC. I’m sharing that clip with you below, and I urge you to share it as well.

Together, let’s amplify our voices for Palestinian liberation.
