I’m proud to share an important step we just took to make Maryland safer and stronger.
At the last Maryland Board of Public Works meeting, we approved over $15 million in grants to support community organizations in Baltimore through the Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative, as well as funds to support Prince George’s County and other statewide projects. These funds will be allocated toward community development, housing initiatives, and economic development projects — the types of investments that make a tangible difference for families and neighborhoods and create safer areas for all of us.

While President Trump has deployed the National Guard to patrol the streets of Washington, D.C., and just announced he wants to deploy troops to Baltimore, our approach in Maryland is straightforward: investing in communities and strengthening opportunities is far more effective than deploying the armed forces.
Our goal is simple: help Maryland residents thrive while creating safer, more vibrant neighborhoods.
My best,
