Women and babies at risk as Ireland fails to tackle coercive abortion
Recent reports on the prevalence of coercive abortion internationally highlight the urgent need to examine the issue more seriously in Ireland.
In recent weeks, alleged incidents of coerced abortion have been documented in the US, with particular attention on cases in Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana.
Ireland has also seen such cases in recent years. Readers of this newsletter will recall the story of a minor who was locked in a room and forced to take abortion pills.

UK’s March for Life 2025 takes place tomorrow
Thousands of pro-life supporters are set to gather in London tomorrow for what could be the UK’s largest-ever March for Life.
The event, which began in Birmingham in 2013 with only a few hundred participants, has grown steadily and drew more than 10,000 people in 2024.
Speakers at this year’s march include Carla Lockhart MP, chair of the Pro-Life All-Party Parliamentary Group; Sara Spencer, a student midwife suspended for being vocally pro-life; Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, co-director of March for Life UK, who was arrested three times and is under investigation for silently praying near abortion clinics; and Josiah Presley, an abortion survivor.
We wish this year’s march every success and hope that even more people than anticipated turnout on the day!

State-funded NGOs unite in bid to make abortion easier to access across EU
With over 1 million signatures, the European citizens’ initiative “My Voice, My Choice” submitted its request to the European Commission earlier this week to set up a funding mechanism to make abortion more accessible.
“My Voice, My Choice” consists of mostly State funded NGOs, that include groups like National Women’s Council of Ireland and the Irish Council for Civil Liberties.
The petition calls on the Commission to devise a funding mechanism to underwrite abortion provision across the EU.
The petition is clearly designed to target Poland and Malta in particular - two Member States that continue to have restrictive laws on abortion. The petition also targets freedom of conscience protections for healthcare workers who don’t wish to participate in abortions.
It is ridiculous how these pro-abortion NGOs draw on taxpayers’ money - and not their own money - to push for legal changes and to impose their extreme agenda on the public. We need more politicians with the guts to take them on and not capitulate to their demands.
