Missouri River Outdoor Expo celebrates 20 years

The Missouri River Outdoor Expo is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a weekend of family entertainment Sept. 20-21 at Ponca State Park [ [link removed] ]. Fan favorites — the Axe Women Loggers of Maine, DockDogs and boat tours — are all on the agenda alongside wildlife encounters, fishing, kayaking, archery, cooking and more. Come and join the fun!

Wetland conditions better in 2025
Good news for waterfowl hunters: wetland conditions are looking up in the Rainwater Basin this year, with variable wetland conditions across the remainder of the state. Our recommendation is scouting ahead of your hunting trip to ensure success. Stay tuned to wetland conditions and pumping plans, which will be updated online [ [link removed] ] throughout the season.

Weigand
Lewis and Clark to see marina improvements
Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area [ [link removed] ] is making way for its multimillion-dollar marina upgrade, which is expected to more than double boat slip capacity and improve this popular boaters' paradise. Weigand Marina will be closed starting Sept. 11 for the duration of construction, but boat ramps will be available at Miller Creek, Bloomfield and South Shore areas.

Register for Ash Hollow Youth Mentored Waterfowl Hunt
Registration is open for the Ash Hollow Youth Mentored Waterfowl Hunt, which is Oct. 19 at Clear Creek Wildlife Management Area near Lewellen. Youth ages 11-15 may register for this hunt put on by our Nebraska Game and Parks conservation officers.
