Today, we want to tell you a little bit more about each one of them. The road to protecting Democratic power in Minnesota runs straight through these races, and your grassroots support right now could make all the difference.
But first, will you become a week-one donor by splitting a contribution to win these races? Election season is here, and we set a goal to raise $10,000 to boost Xp and Amanda’s campaigns.
Let us introduce you to Xp and Amanda and explain why these open seats are must-wins:
Xp Lee (MN HD-34B) is a lifelong community builder and dedicated public servant, spending over two decades advocating for equity — serving on the City Council and leading health equity work at the state level. Xp is running in the September 16 special election to protect the legacy of Speaker Melissa Hortman, while advancing solutions on healthcare, schools, public safety, and economic opportunity.
Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger (MN SD-47) is a scientist and legislator who has helped pass transformative policies, including paid leave and Minnesota’s 100% carbon-free electricity plan. Now, Amanda is running to protect this seat this November and continue fighting for a stronger, more sustainable future for all Minnesotans.
With a tie in the state House and a razor-thin majority in the state Senate, the outcome of Xp and Amanda’s elections will decide control of the legislature, John!
We’re so proud to back each one of these progressive candidates. If you’re as fired up as we are to help them win and keep these seats out of Republican hands, please split a contribution between Sister District, Xp, and Amanda right now.
