The Republicans love to claim that the Democrats are the party of obstruction. And yet, since Congress was sworn in back in January, Democrats in the House have worked tirelessly day after day to make life better for the American people. We’ve passed hundreds of bills. The GOP-led Senate has barely made it to a few dozen. I think it’s pretty evident where the holdup is.
In case it’s still not clear, I wanted to send a short quiz to see which party has accomplished real progress for the American people.
1. Who is fighting for comprehensive protections for LGBTQ+ Americans?
2. Who is actively trying to lower prescription drug prices, stand up to greedy pharmaceutical companies, and strengthen the ACA?
3. Who stood up to the NRA and took the first major action on gun safety in decades?
4. Who is working on monumental voter reforms to give voters back their voice?
If you guessed the Democrats for all four, congrats! We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in the House. The problem is, Mitch McConnell and his buddies are standing in the way of these bills becoming law. It’s time the American people had a Congress that put their needs first. Will you chip in $20.20 to help ensure that we hold the House and take back the Senate, so we can finally make the changes the American people are calling for?
