Dear John,
I hope that all is well with you.
We were going to have our next online get together on the 6th but have since received information about another event that looks very worthwhile being held that same evening, so we’ve postponed WCL’s event till the 13th.
The screening of the inspirational film, 2040, is being sponsored by Extinction Rebellion Hammersmith & Fulham. You can register to watch the film for free (available for 50 hours from 8pm Saturday 4th July) and find details for the Zoom meeting on Monday, July 6th at 7:30pm here. We understand all WCL members / supporters are welcome, not just LBHF residents.
Here's more info from XR H&F:
During the film, you will travel the world to meet the innovators and change-makers pioneering the best readily available solutions that can lead us to a more ecologically sustainable and equitable future.
And in Monday’s meeting we will take a look at the issues and opportunities raised in the film and see how we can apply any of these to our own situation in Hammersmith and Fulham.
Hammersmith & Fulham Council has pledged to take urgent action to combat climate change by cutting carbon emissions to net zero by 2030. The 2040 film will hopefully inspire our councillors, businesses and residents to identify a range of creative local ideas to turn this vision into reality and create a thriving borough for all.
Local representatives from the council, business and the H&F community will be attending the interactive discussion. Suggestions will feed into the Imagine2030 forum for ideas and be considered by LBHF.
In the wake of Covid19 we have a choice to move in a more positive direction or return to an unsustainable ‘business as usual’. Please sign up, listen to the exciting ideas and join the Zoom meeting to contribute to rethinking our local future.
I hope you'll agree it's worth putting off WCL's meeting till the following week.
With best wishes,
Vivien Lichtenstein
