John, do you want to know how scared the fossil fuel industry is of our JanePAC-endorsed climate champions? Just look at what’s happening in Washington State:

A super PAC funded by Chevron and the Koch family, among other big business interests, has spent $330,000 to unseat State Senators Victoria Hunt (LD-5) and Deb Krishnadasan (LD-26).

That’s not a typo. $330,000 of dirty money has already been spent on mailers, texts, and digital attack ads designed to spread lies and replace these climate champions with oily politicians in November. And with just two months until voters cast their ballots, you can bet Big Oil is going to spend even more.

It’s up to us and our entire movement to rally behind climate champions when they need us the most. So why are fossil fuel giants so desperate to defeat these two women? Because they know Victoria and Deb can't be bought by Big Oil.

Victoria has an excellent climate record throughout her public service.

👉 She’s championed bills to protect public lands, invest in renewable energy, and create a public notification system for sewage spills. As an Issaquah City Councilor, she led the passage of the city’s Climate Action Plan, which laid out a pathway to decarbonization.

Deb Krishnadasan has been fearless in the State Senate.

👉 She led the way on legislation to hold corporate polluters accountable and expand research on PFAS, also known as "forever chemicals." She's even working to advance ferry electrification and supports a just transition to 100% clean energy.

It's easy to see why Big Oil is so eager to replace these climate champions with politicians who'll do their bidding. That just means we need to work twice as hard to hand the fossil fuel industry a major defeat.
