John,
I’ve heard from so many of you who are worried about Medicare. I am, too.
Republicans’ so-called “Big Ugly Bill” adds trillions to the national debt. And under the law, when the debt balloons like this, it forces mandatory cuts to Medicare—whether they admit it or not. That’s on top of the trillion dollars they’ve already proposed slashing from Medicaid.
Let’s be clear: Medicare is not a handout. It’s a benefit Americans earn by paying into it every paycheck of their working lives. Seniors, veterans, and families depend on it for dignity, stability, and care. Breaking that promise would be devastating—not just to millions of Americans, but to the foundation of trust that keeps our democracy strong.
We’ve seen this playbook before. They saddle the country with massive tax breaks for the wealthy, blow up the deficit, and then turn around and claim that Medicare is “unsustainable.” But the truth is simple: these cuts aren’t optional—they’re required by the very debt their own bill creates.
We can’t let it happen.
It’s clear: Trump’s agenda puts polluters’ profits ahead of our health, our water, and our future.
As a member of the House and a lifelong environmental advocate, I’m doing everything I can to protect our planet. I won’t stand idly by and let this destruction happen without a fight.
That’s why I’m asking you to take a moment to share your voice in my new Medicare Protection Survey. It only takes a minute, and your answers will help me shape how I fight back in Congress.
After you fill it out, I hope you’ll consider chipping in to help keep me in Congress. I don’t take a cent of corporate PAC money, and this campaign is powered entirely by grassroots support. We need to be loud and clear: we won’t let MAGA extremists dismantle the programs we earned.
Thank you,
Mike
