When I was 15, my family was ripped apart when my father was deported, and my sisters and I were raised by our single mother in northeast LA. My roots are in Highland Park, where generations of my working-class family have lived and built community, and where I’m proud to have led the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council.
I’ve lived the struggles our community faces — from housing instability to wage stagnation, from family separation to gun violence — and I know what it means to fight for real change.

I am proud to have the support of Justice Democrats and to join their slate of working-class champions. From AOC in 2018 to Summer Lee in 2022, they have shown that you can run a campaign the right way and win. That means not taking any corporate PAC, fossil fuel, or real estate developer money, unlike my opponent. I refuse to take a dime from the villains who are making my community suffer.
I know it’s going to take a lot to be taken seriously in this race. As a young Chicana woman going up against a career politician backed by AIPAC, I know that we have a long road ahead of us.
But I have an unwavering commitment to lifting up my community and fighting for a better future for the next generation. Los Angeles is my home, and I want to see it thrive.
