BJS recaps August 2025 news and activities 

In August, BJS released reports on criminal victimization statistics for the 22 largest U.S. states, background checks for firearm transfers, and a BJS-funded report on the redesign and pretest of the BJS local jail inmates survey. BJS also updated access instructions for the National Incident-Based Reporting System and the National Crime Victimization Survey APIs
