Democrats call it “health care for all”—but really, it’s health care for illegal immigrants and the bill for you.

Ferguson’s Free-For-All: Medicaid for Everyone (Except Taxpayers)

Turns out “compassion” under Democrat leadership really means sticking hardworking taxpayers with the bill. House Oversight Chair James Comer is digging into how Biden’s border chaos has bled billions out of Medicaid—$16.2 billion in just three years—by covering emergency services for illegal immigrants. Now Comer’s asking a lineup of Democrat governors, including Washington’s very own Bob Ferguson, to explain why they’re funneling public health dollars into this scheme instead of protecting citizens who actually pay the taxes.

California is already openly burning through $9.5 billion on health care for undocumented immigrants, and Minnesota’s Gov. Tim Walz got caught making dubious claims about what his state’s Medicaid programs cover. Ferguson’s name is now right in the mix, facing questions about whether Washington is also quietly diverting funds to cover illegal immigrants while pretending the system is airtight.

So here we are: Biden’s failed border policies, Democrat governors enabling the fallout, and Ferguson once again on the wrong side of protecting taxpayers. But hey, when has fiscal responsibility ever been a Democrat priority? Read more at Center Square.

Seattle Democrats: Housing First, Results Never

Former congressman and longtime King County Sheriff Dave Reichert has seen tragedy up close—from violent crime to the Green River Killer investigation. But in his latest column, Reichert says Seattle’s homelessness crisis now weighs just as heavily, and Democrats’ “housing first” approach is making it worse. Nearly 17,000 people are homeless in King County, a 26% jump in two years, yet leaders still pretend four walls will magically solve addiction and despair.

Reichert argues real solutions require treatment, counseling, job training, and—gasp—accountability. That’s the piece Democrats never want to talk about, preferring to throw money at “compassion” programs that deliver little more than more tents and overdoses.

His message is clear: if Washington wants to move from managing homelessness to ending it, the state needs recovery-centered solutions, not more failed experiments. Read more at Seattle Red.

Ferguson Flunks School Choice 101

Washington families finally have a shot at meaningful school choice thanks to the new federal tax-credit scholarship program—something that helps kids, helps parents, and doesn’t cost the state a dime. But instead of celebrating a win-win, Bob Ferguson is busy clutching his pearls and muttering about “voucher programs” that might harm public schools.

Here’s the kicker: these scholarships aren’t vouchers, and they don’t use public money. They’re privately funded, federally incentivized, and designed so families with limited means can afford private or religious schools, tutoring, special needs services, even basics like books and uniforms. Taxpayers get a federal credit, kids get opportunities, and the state doesn’t lose a cent.

Yet Ferguson, ever the loyal foot soldier for the teachers’ unions, is already looking for excuses to block it. While states like Arizona have been running similar programs for decades, Ferguson wants to stall, analyze, and probably “study” it to death until the 2027 opt-in deadline quietly slips by.

Translation: if Ferguson gets his way, Washington parents will be stuck paying taxes into a system that denies them options—just to keep his political allies happy. Because in Bob’s world, protecting the monopoly of public education ranks far higher than actually helping kids learn. Read more at Center Square.

KING 5: Resistance Theater, Not Reporting

Seattle media is at it again, and KING 5’s latest “investigation” into ICE wasn’t journalism—it was activism. Reporter Kristin Goodwillie framed immigration enforcement as “ICE hunts people down,” turning law enforcement into villains while portraying illegal immigrants as innocent victims.

What KING 5 won’t admit is that Washington Democrats created this mess by making the state a sanctuary haven and handing out driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. Of course ICE would use that data—states don’t get to nullify federal immigration law, no matter how much Seattle activists wish otherwise.

The report also cherry-picked its example, spotlighting an immigrant with “no criminal history” but leaving out any context that might explain ICE’s interest. That’s not honest reporting; that’s narrative building. Even on the law, KING 5 bent the facts—claiming ICE broke state law when even the bill’s author admitted it was merely “against the spirit” of the law.

The real story is how sanctuary laws invite illegal immigration, create public safety risks, and tie federal hands. But KING 5 won’t touch that—because it might upset the activist base they’re catering to. What viewers got wasn’t accountability. It was resistance theater, with the truth conveniently left on the cutting room floor. Read more at Seattle Red.
