Dear john,
According to reports, Congressional Republicans have been instructed to no longer refer to Trump's signature legislation as the "One Big Beautiful Bill" anymore, and instead call it the ""
This comes even after Trump himself said during an August 26 Cabinet meeting in the White House that he’s no longer referring to the new law as the One Big Beautiful Bill.
It seems that this proposal comes amidst poor polling on this legislation amongst Americans, where more than 64% of voters view the "One Big Beautiful Bill" unfavorably.
As I mentioned back in June, it's staggering to see how unpopular something is across Democrats, Republicans, and Independents in such a partisan time.
Below is a recap:
A Fox News poll found that only 38% of registered voters support it.
A KFF poll found that only 35% of adults have a favorable view of the legislation.
The Pew Research Center found that only 29% of adults favor the bill.
A Quinnipiac University poll found that only 27% of registered voters support the bill.
Call it what you want, it doesn't change what's in this bill that was signed into law: a nearly $1 trillion cut to Medicaid to pay for billionaire tax cuts and over $170 billion for mass migrant detention.
