Dear Jack,

Last week, a Gaston County judge dismissed the fraud and conspiracy claims brought by detransitioner Prisha Mosley, who suffered permanent damage from experimental gender transition interventions as a teenager. Even after the legislature passed HB805, extending the statute of limitations so victims like Prisha could pursue justice, Judge Robert Ervin denied her motion and blocked her malpractice claim.

At NC Values, we are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Prisha. As our Executive Director Tami Fitzgerald declared to the Carolina Journal ([link removed]) :

“People like Prisha deserve the ability to hold the doctors who committed medical malpractice against them with harmful gender transition interventions accountable. Judge Ervin was wrong to deny her motion.”

And our General Counsel Mary Summa made clear that this fight is far from over:

“The research is clear that the judge’s ruling should be reversed on appeal. Even at the time Prisha was given puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and had her breasts surgically removed, there was no substantive evidence showing that these procedures met a standard of care. Furthermore, she was not properly advised as to the consequences of taking these drugs or undergoing surgery. There are issues of material facts and they need to be addressed to bring justice for Prisha.”

NC Values has played a vital role in helping Prisha share her story with the public and lawmakers, ensuring that the harms of so-called “gender medicine” are not hidden. We also worked alongside key legislative allies to lead the passage of HB805, extending the statute of limitations so that victims like Prisha could seek justice.

We cannot do this without you.
