Hello John,

I hope you're keeping well.

This World Sexual Health Day ([link removed]) , we're sharing two vital youth sexual health resources to help you understand key youth sexual health concerns:
Ireland's Romeo & Juliet Defence ([link removed])
Young People, Pornography, & Sexting ([link removed])
[link removed]
The Romeo and Juliet defence ([link removed]) is a legal exemption designed to protect young people from criminialisation for engaging in consensual sexual activity with their peers who are close in age.

This resource, a detailed infographic, covers:
* What the defence is
* When it applies
* The age of consent in Ireland
* Exceptions to the defence
* Implications for youth workers
* Ways you can support young people

Working with young people means being ready to have difficult conversations. As they learn to manage sexual health concerns, your role may entail helping them to navigate taboo topics.

This resource, a detailed 30-page document ([link removed]) , was developed to support you in this aspect of your work and covers:
* Insights into why young people engage with pornography and the potential impacts of this
* An overview of Irish law relating to pornography, sexting, and the sharing of sexual images
* An exploration of why young people engage in sexting and image sharing, and the associated risks
* Guidance on how to support young people in navigating these topics and where to find further support and advice

We hope you find these resources useful in your work. You can find out more on the work of the National Youth Health Programme, as well as access to additional youth sexual health resources, on our website. ([link removed])
All the best,
