This year we wandered into unknown territory.

A year that started with the impeachment of a president was quickly upended by dual public health and economic crises, and then came large scale protests of millions of Americans calling out for racial justice and an end to police violence. The campaign atmosphere has dramatically changed, yet we still face the most consequential election of our lifetimes—one that I believe will determine how the rest of this century unfolds for our country.

This year has brought us face-to-face with brutally difficult challenges, but I remain optimistic that we’re on the cusp of change -- and convinced that it all depends on what we do between now and November to prepare.

November 3rd isn’t just about one office, it’s about all of us, and we can’t sit idly by and hope for the best. We have to create the change we want to see, and that’s why, with your help, I launched Win the Era.

We have the opportunity to move on from the weaknesses and injustices of our past -- to ensure that the most vulnerable populations aren’t being exploited, to ensure everyone has the same fair chance at voting, to ensure that we change our democracy for the better -- but it only happens if we work to elect humane and humble leaders from the White House all the way to the County Board of Supervisors.

No one said it would be easy, but with our hunger of change meeting a moment in this nation, I know we can activate an American majority ready for bold, progressive leadership.
