John,
Trump may deploy the military forces in Chicago and Baltimore as soon as today. We’re partnering with our friends at Win Without War on a billboard campaign to remind National Guard and other service members on their right to refuse if given an illegal order by their superiors.
This critical campaign needs our support. Please check out the message below and then rush a split donation to Win Without War and Democracy for America Advocacy Fund and deliver the resources we need to keep the billboards up near military bases and in DC now!
John:
Weaponizing the military against the people they’re sworn to protect isn’t making anyone safer. Instead, Trump’s authoritarian power grab has put the entire country on edge.
People in DC report feeling less safe than ever. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has authorized National Guard troops to begin carrying weapons, and MAGA Republicans are racing to expand Trump’s takeover. Democratic-run cities like Chicago and Baltimore appear to be next.
Servicemembers didn’t sign up for this — picking up trash outside the White House, conducting draconian checkpoints across U.S. cities, or being a cog in Trump’s deportation machine — but with your help, we’ll remind them they have a different choice.
We’re placing billboards outside key military bases around the country and running a mobile billboard in DC to ensure our troops have access to resources if confronted with unethical or illegal orders.
As Trump extends his DC takeover and expands it to other major cities, we need to plaster our message across the nation’s capital and in even more places, quickly. Every dollar matters, which is why we’re reaching out to you today. Will you rush a split donation of $5 to Win Without War and Democracy for America Advocacy Fund and expand our outreach to servicemembers with resources and information about their rights?

This isn’t the first time Trump has used the military to enforce his agenda in our cities, John. He deployed 700 Marines and 4,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles earlier this summer to quell protests against his immigration enforcement policies.
There, reporting revealed “low morale” and “deep concern” amongst National Guard personnel. At least 105 members sought counseling from behavioral health officers, and at least two mid-level commanders were reassigned after objecting to the mission.[1]
Trump is trying to normalize military deployments on our streets, and many servicemembers already understand there’s nothing normal about it. But Trump can’t succeed without the troops and federal agents he’s deploying to do his dirty work.
As more troops express concerns or question their roles in Trump’s political fights, we can be there for them with the resources and answers they need. It’s going to take a monumental effort to get our message across more cities and military installations around the country, but your donation today can help fund billboards that will do just that.
Will you split a donation between Win Without War and Democracy for America Advocacy Fund to make sure servicemembers know their rights and have the support they need to honor their duty to protect people and defend the Constitution? The more money we raise, the longer we can run the billboards up and keep this campaign going. Please give generously.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
