I recently held a town hall in Albany to talk about looming federal budget cuts — cuts Republicans are rushing through that would devastate rural Georgia.
Here’s the bottom line: Everyone, regardless of where they live, in rural communities, in urban communities, deserves to reach their full potential. The government should foster an atmosphere to ensure they have the resources to make that happen. If you agree with me, please consider making a donation to my campaign.
But if MAGA Republicans’ budget cuts go into effect, Medicare reductions will force many patients in our rural hospitals — even those with insurance — to drive farther for care. In emergencies, that could be the difference between life and death. Others might be forced to go without the care they need.
While I am heavily focused on my district, the truth is that the impact of these budget cuts will be felt nationwide.
We’re up against relentless Republican efforts to slash programs that everyday Americans depend on — while funneling tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. That’s why I need to be able to stand up and push back in DC, but I can’t do it alone.
