Texas and Colorado could each be saddled with more than $170 million in annual costs. California alone faces $389 million. These are states ready to replace outdated plants with cheaper, cleaner energy — but Trump is forcing families to subsidize polluters instead.

And higher bills are just the beginning. Coal is one of the biggest drivers of climate change. It releases more carbon dioxide than any other fuel, poisons our air and water, and puts low-income and working-class communities at greater risk of asthma, heart disease, and cancer.
