Israel

Friend,
Tomorrow is July 1, the date set by Netanyahu for moving forward with
annexation.
With just hours left until that seemingly arbitrary date, it's still not
clear what's going to happen.
Alternate Prime Minister Gantz has suggested he opposes moves toward
annexation as COVID-19 spikes within Israel. The coalition agreement he
signed with Netanyahu does not give him a veto over annexation, but it’s
been reported that the US team does not want Israel to move forward
without Gantz’s consent. At the same time, to complicate matters, it
appears there may be internal disagreements between Ambassador Friedman
and other members of the administration.
Whatever news we wake up to in the morning -- whether Netanyahu punts on
the decision, announces some form of ‘limited annexation’ or goes further
-- we know the fight won’t end there.
Tomorrow at noon Eastern, we’ll be breaking down the news and discussing
what happens next with Israeli and American lawmakers who’ve been leading
that fight: MK Nitzan Horowitz, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Senator Chris Van
Hollen and MK Ofer Shelah.

J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami will moderate the conversation and
provide J Street’s perspective on the day’s events as well as action steps
should Netanyahu make the disastrous mistake of annexing West Bank
territory.
At this momentous juncture for the pro-Israel, pro-peace movement, we
encourage you to join this briefing.
