Friend, it’s been almost 8 months since historic wildfires devastated communities in Los Angeles, California — and Project HOPE is still on the ground making a difference.
With the support of our incredible community of donors, Project HOPE is helping children process their trauma and begin to heal. Just recently, our team hosted a creative mental health workshop for kids at La Pintoresca Branch Library in Pasadena — a community space that became a sanctuary for families impacted by the wildfires.
Through movement, storytelling, and art, the kids learned to recognize and express their emotions. They danced through each emotion they were feeling. They listened to a reading of the book “The Color Monster,” a story of learning about emotions using color. Then they shared their own experiences and created vibrant self-portraits of their own “feeling monsters.”
It was joyful, moving, and deeply needed by children in this community. Because the truth is that in the wake of disaster, healing isn’t just physical — it’s emotional, too. And Project HOPE’s compassionate donors help make that healing possible. Will you join them with a generous donation?
