Hiya! It’s the Democracy Summer Fellows here at Team Scanlon back again with two updates.

First — we just connected with Luke and Mary Gay, and holy smokes… THANK YOU for showing up during our end-of-month deadline. Mary Gay was right when she said she had the best supporters in the country! You’re helping her get out in red districts, organize, and show up for the people.

Second — this is a bit of sad news 🥺 — but our time at Team Scanlon has come to an end!

It has been an amazing summer filled with growth and amazing experiences that have inspired us to keep going and learning. We’ve called so many voters and written so many letters this summer (seriously, that is not as easy as you’d think). We’ve met people from all across Southeast PA and made real connections with them and one another. And we’re excited to continue exploring politics in our careers.

We’re sad to go, but we know that Team Scanlon refuses to EVER ramp down their organizing work — so we know that we aren’t leaving them empty-handed as we head back to school.

Being virtually connected with you has been so great and reminds us why we are so passionate about politics. We’re just so grateful that you care about the future as much as we do.

Please never stop supporting Mary Gay, we mean it. She’s one of the hardest working, most intelligent, caring, and passionate people we have ever met (we didn’t even know politicians like her existed!!).
