AUGUSTA- Representatives from the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT), Maine Tourism Association, the National Park Service, and Friends of Acadia will be on hand Friday, September 5 to answer questions and introduce media to the Acadia Gateway Center.

The Acadia Gateway Center (AGC) is an intermodal transit and welcome center that serves visitors to Downeast Maine and Acadia National Park. Visitor facilities include free day-use parking (300 spaces including 18 EV charging spaces and 10 oversized vehicle spaces), a bus stop for Island Explorer and commercial tour buses, and an 11,000-square-foot information center with park and regional tourism information, retail space, restrooms, and a waiting area.

The Acadia Gateway Center opened to the public Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
