Greetings Friend,
Our D.C. communities are under federal occupation. And other cities, like Chicago and Baltimore, are next.
Armed federal troops and National Guard members are harassing, surveilling, and detaining DC residents, including immigrants, youth, and our unhoused neighbors. All for daring to live their lives in the place we call home. Trump’s hand-picked D.C. attorney has even chosen not to enforce our prohibition on open carry, putting us all at greater risk.
On Saturday, September 6, we’re marching to demand an end to Trump’s federal takeover!
Join us at 11:00 A.M. at Malcolm X Park (16th St NW & W St NW) as we march to Freedom Plaza by the White House. [[link removed]]
What are we marching for?
* An immediate withdrawal of federal troops from the District and an end to the federalization of our police
* A stop to armed intimidation and over policing in our communities
* To call out Trump’s hypocrisy —— highlighting how his administration has cut programs and funding proven to prevent violence and keep DC communities safe
This rally and march are planned by national and local organizations and labor unions experienced in leading peaceful and impactful events in D.C. There is a detailed safety plan in place, including safety marshalls and communication with law enforcement.
We refuse to allow the Trump administration to disenfranchise D.C. residents, use armed intimidation, and turn our home into a militarized zone.
