Meet Dr. Mark Dance, next ABSC Executive Director

Unanimously approved by the ABSC Executive Board on August 19, Dr. Mark Dance will serve as the next Executive Director of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) beginning October 1. Dr. Dance comes to the ABSC from GuideStone, where he served as Director of Pastoral Wellness. Prior to that he was an Associate Vice President at Lifeway and served
as a local church pastor for 30 years and 10 as a pastoral ministry leader.

One Day Acts 1:8 Missions Experience provides an annual opportunity for Arkansas Baptists to impact lostness in a specific area of our state. Partnering with the churches of a local Association, Arkansas Baptists from across the state spend five hours on the first Saturday in October serving in a variety of ministries.

Coaching Conversations (Kids Ministry)

In this online cohort, you’ll learn that conversations boil down to discipleship opportunities. The goal is that you will be developed as a leader and grow in your ability to ask, seek, and engage in all the different relational conversations that come your way.
Thursdays, September 11–October 9, 10:00–11:15 a.m. We will not meet on September 25. Three meetings will be online via Zoom. One meeting will be in-person on October 9, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon at the ABSC Building.

Annual Meeting, October 20–21, 2025

The 172nd annual meeting of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention will begin on Monday evening and conclude on Tuesday afternoon at First Baptist Church in Russellville. The Pastors' Conference and Ministers Wives' Conference will still be held on Monday. Watch absc.org for a full schedule of events to be posted in early October.

Annual Church Profile 2025
|
|
Arkansas Baptist churches are asked to complete the Annual Church Profile (ACP) statistical survey. The Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and their agencies use the data collected to be aware of trends and plan ministry accordingly. Your church should receive a packet in the mail around the end of August
with printed instructions. Or you may go to ar.sbcworkspace.com to fill out the survey online. Call 501-376-4791, if you need your church's login information.
