When we started August, we didn’t quite know what was ahead of us.

Donald Trump and his Republican allies were working to rig our democracy by redrawing maps and stripping away Democratic seats in Texas.

Under the leadership of Gov. Newsom, we responded with the Election Rigging Response Act — which is now going before voters in November as Proposition 50.

And now, because of you, we’re entering the fight for Proposition 50 with real momentum. This ballot measure is our chance to stop Trump’s plot in its tracks and ensure that California continues to lead the way in protecting fair elections.

Here’s the truth: Campaigns like this aren’t easy. They require organizers on the ground, voter protection hotlines, conversations with undecided neighbors, and thousands of phone calls reminding folks to vote on November 4. And we have only two months before this new election.

But thanks to your commitment, we are able to launch this fight with confidence.

I cannot overstate it: Your support is why we still have a shot at winning in November — ensuring Democrats still have a path to retake the U.S. House.
