Thousands of New Jersey families are getting ready to send their children back to school in our state’s public education system.

Mikie Sherrill for Governor

Team,

Right now, thousands of New Jersey families are getting ready to send children back to school in our state’s public education system — including my family!

And while New Jersey has some of the best public schools in the country, I know that our state still faces large disparities in educational opportunities, leaving a massive achievement gap — and as governor, I intend to close it. I’ll tell you more in a second, but if you’re with me, will you pitch in to help us fix New Jersey public schools?

I’ve spent my career fighting for public education. In Congress, I fought to bring back federal funding to safely reopen schools and get kids back on track, including by introducing legislation to provide high-quality tutoring to students.

And as governor, I intend to build on that progress. I have my full plan to improve New Jersey’s schools on my website (you can read it here!) but here’s a bulleted list of some of the things I’ll get done as your next governor:

  • We’ll address the mental health crisis by increasing the number of school counselors, psychologists, and mental health services in our schools.
  • We’ll promote Community Schools, which have wrap-around services like health and nutrition, parent education, and after-school activities.
  • We’ll offer more apprenticeships, work closely with employers and colleges, and expand job training programs.

As a mom, I know that our children’s education is our number one priority. That’s exactly why I’m working so hard to make New Jersey’s education system work for everyone. And if you’re with me, will you chip in today to help us get the job done?
