** Data Linkages Enable Individual Support and Shared Success
------------------------------------------------------------

The toughest problems individuals face are complex and cut across multiple areas of their lives. Data systems that link information across systems and sectors (sometimes referred to as an integrated data system or data trust) enable individuals to get the support they need to succeed in their lives inside and outside of classroom settings.

DQC’s latest infographic ([link removed]) illustrates several specific examples of how leaders can use secure, linked data to help individuals receive 360-degree support. For example, as 5th grader Max transitions to an out-of-home care setting, his caseworker and other adults use data to make sure he remains in the same class and school throughout his transition, and that he receives the additional supports he needs.

Investments in data infrastructure are investments in recovery; recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic can’t happen without data. State leaders must work to remove barriers between existing sources of information to create linked data systems that help leaders marshal the resources that everyone needs.
