John,
This week we can protect a HUGE 695,400 acre stretch of Madagascar ocean home to endangered sharks, turtles, and dolphins, and pristine coral reef!
At nearly 3000 square kilometres, the Marine Protected Area we can help create would be bigger than Luxembourg. And it’s critical to defending this incredible stretch of ocean from illegal fishing, unsustainable tourism, and pollution.
Our partners are working with the Madagascar government to create the reserve and fund and implement a strong enforcement plan. They have 90% of what they need to make it happen, but are asking for *our* help to get it done!
At least 24 threatened species, from sharks to dolphins to turtles (like the endangered Hawksbill above), call this area home. And we can protect it forever. Can you chip in to create this mega Marine Protected Area in Madagascar – and fight for nature worldwide?

Nosy Be isn’t just critical for its biodiversity, but essential to food security for Madagascar, where more than 90% of the population lives below the poverty line. This project is badly needed to ensure long-term protection of the coral reef ecosystems that are vital to both local communities… and marine life.
That includes HUNDREDS of endangered Whale Sharks – the world’s largest fish – which congregate in the area, but have become frequent victims of boat collisions.

Not to mention endangered Blue Whales,

critically endangered Hawksbill Turtles,

endangered Humpback Dolphins,

and over 300 square kilometers of what scientists call “pristine” coral reef!

We can help preserve it that way for future generations. If enough of us chip in we can help our partner Rainforest Trust fully fund the project and get the Marine Protected Area in place – and keep up our work to find more opportunities like this around the globe! Can you chip in?

Your donation will help power Ekō and our campaigns worldwide fighting for people and the planet.
Together, we’ve helped protect massive tracts of land from Indonesia to Ecuador, from Guinea to Argentina. Now we have a chance to do it for the ocean too…join in!
