🚨 BREAKING: Devastating 6.0 earthquake in Afghanistan resulting in over 800 deaths. IRC is acting fast to respond. 🚨

John,

Late last night, a 6.0-magnitude earthquake devastated eastern Afghanistan. Entire villages have been destroyed. Roads are blocked. Hospitals are overwhelmed. At least 2,000 people are injured, and at least 800 have lost their lives.

The IRC is preparing to deploy emergency mobile medical teams in Nangarhar. Kunar and Laghman provinces to deliver first aid, maternal and newborn care, and critical medicines—reaching families trapped in remote, mountainous areas.

But this crisis comes on top of years of conflict, flooding, and severe funding shortages. To save lives, we must act immediately.
