Dear John,
This month I've continued to work hard on your behalf and represent your views on a range of issues.

I have been working hard to help everyone affected by the recent water supply issues across Berwickshire.
From the moment this crisis started, I was pushing Scottish Water for answers and sought to update local residents as much as possible.
While local teams on the ground were doing their best to help, the lack of communication and disorganisation from Scottish Water HQ was appalling.
I’ve now ** written to the First Minister ([link removed])
John Swinney to urge him to investigate this and ensure this terrible situation does not happen again.

Scotland Loves Local week, which just finished, aims to champion the benefits we all get from supporting businesses on our doorstep.
When we shop and buy from a local company, the benefits go beyond that one business.
Buying local helps to support and create jobs. It helps to keep our high streets thriving. It helps businesses to expand and it may encourage more entrepreneurs to get started with a new enterprise.
So, please keep supporting Borders communities and our economy by buying local if you can.

The most recent Government Expenditure and Revenue Statistics (GERS) have once again confirmed how important it is that Scotland remains within the United Kingdom.
The Union dividend, the amount of higher public spending we receive in Scotland as part of the UK, is now worth over £2,500 for every man, woman and child.
This demonstrates again that the SNP's plans for independence, if they ever got their way, would be catastrophic for our country.

After years of SNP funding cuts, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have had to consider reductions to local services.
I'm completely opposed to their proposal to reduce service at Hawick Fire Station to a daytime-only service.
If this goes ahead, public safety will be at risk. If you agree, please fill out the consultation below
