Friends,
It was great to see so many of you at this week’s community events in Huffman, Channelview, and Kingwood. These conversations always remind me of how engaged and resilient our community is, and I’m thankful to everyone who took the time to show up, ask questions, and share your thoughts. Hearing directly from you helps shape my work in Washington and makes sure I’m fighting for the priorities that matter most here at home.
As we move into September, Congress will be hitting the ground running. I’ll keep focusing on strengthening our economy, supporting Houston’s energy leadership, securing our border, and pushing forward critical flood-control projects for our district. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there’s still more to do — and I look forward to keeping you updated every step of the way.
Sincerely,
|

Kingwood Community Update
At last week’s Kingwood town hall, more than 400 people joined us for updates and Q&A. While there were some interruptions, the overwhelming majority of neighbors came to have a productive conversation about the issues that matter most — especially flood mitigation, which remains a top priority for our community. I’m grateful to everyone who took the time to participate, share feedback, and stay engaged in the work we’re doing together.

Lake Houston BizCom |
This month, I spoke at Partnership Lake Houston’s BizCom about the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” a major pro-growth tax law that makes 2017 tax cuts permanent, expands small business deductions, and streamlines energy permitting—resulting in lower taxes, more jobs, and certainty for Texas families and Main Street businesses. Locally, I’ve secured federal funds to restore Lake Houston after Harvey, strengthen the dam, and fund flood-control projects, including Ford Road, Taylor Gully, and stormwater basins, thereby protecting our homes and businesses from future storms.

Community Updates
|
I recently had the pleasure of hosting community updates in Huffman, Channelview, and Kingwood. It was great to connect with so many of you and share what I’ve been working on in Congress for our district. I especially appreciated hearing your questions, feedback, and ideas about the issues that matter most to our community.
Thank you to everyone who came out and joined the conversation. I’ll keep working hard to deliver results for our district, and I look forward to continuing these conversations in the months ahead. |
Lake Houston Rotary Club |
I was grateful to join the Lake Houston Rotary on August 27 to share my work in Congress. We discussed efforts to keep Houston a leader in America’s energy future — reducing red tape, fostering innovation, and creating local jobs. I highlighted progress on local priorities, like flood control and infrastructure. Houston has been central to America’s growth, and I’ll continue to work to ensure our community remains strong and competitive.

National Preparedness Month
September is National Preparedness Month, and this year’s theme, Preparedness Starts at Home, serves as a reminder to take simple steps to protect your family. That involves understanding your risks, creating an emergency plan, assembling a basic supply kit, and engaging with your community. Preparation doesn’t have to be costly, but it can make a big difference when disaster hits. |
