Happy Labor Day, John!
Growing up, I watched my mom dedicate her life to being a public school teacher and a proud MEA member. She showed me not only the value of hard work, but also how unions built Michigan’s middle class and secured critical protections for working families.
This holiday is about honoring the generations of workers who organized, sacrificed, and fought for the rights we sometimes take for granted today. And at a time when those rights are still under threat, I’ll never stop standing with working people and defending the freedom to organize.
I’m grateful for all you do to keep our communities strong, and I hope you and your loved ones enjoy a safe and restorative Labor Day.
With gratitude,
Hillary
