Happy Labor Day.
Today, we reflect on the labor movement’s impact on our country, and on the work ahead of us to ensure all workers are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
We know that alone, no one person can take on the ultra-wealthy and the powerful. But by joining together in a union, working people have secured the benefits they deserve: better wages, workplace protections, health care, and even the weekend.
Organizing together is more important than ever — especially right now. It’s abundantly clear that Donald Trump doesn’t care about the kitchen table issues that matter to most Americans. He and his billionaire friends don’t care about what it takes for a working family to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads, let alone make a better life for themselves and their loved ones.
As the true party of labor and working people, Democrats must stand with unions and up for all working people — in the halls of Congress, in state houses, on the picket lines, and in the streets.
With your help, that’s exactly what we’re doing. We’ve held over 100 town halls to hold accountable the Republicans who are greenlighting Trump’s agenda that hands a giant tax cut to the wealthy while cutting access to health care and food assistance for millions of working people. We’re organizing and showing up everywhere — investing in every single Democratic state party — to help elect Democrats at all levels and in all communities who will fight for working families.
For working people everywhere, our fight must continue. And with your help, it will.
As Trump wages his war on working families, Democrats will fiercely answer the call to the old union song, “Which Side Are You On?” Democrats are on the side of the worker. And we will show Americans every day that workers, in fact, do have more power than any billionaire.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message,
The Democrats
