Did you know that Colorado was one of the first states to create an official labor holiday, Johh?
From the very beginning, our state understood that the strength of our communities is tied to the dignity of our workers.
Labor Day shows us what ordinary people can achieve through extraordinary courage. Because of union leaders and worker advocates who never gave up, we have the protections so many of us take for granted today, including safer workplaces, fairer hours, and the end of child labor.
But these hard-fought victories are not guaranteed. We’ve watched Donald Trump chip away at collective bargaining, strip protections from federal workers, and push trade policies that threaten entire industries — leaving families anxious about their future. We must continue to fight for them generation after generation.
I’ve always believed that when workers thrive, so does our nation. That’s why I’ve fought to defend healthcare, secure retirement, good-paying jobs, and the right to organize. Those values are at the heart of everything I do in Congress.
This Labor Day, I’m renewing my commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with working families here in Colorado and across the country, and continue building an economy where everyone has a fair shot.
Happy Labor Day, Johh!
