We’re looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Labor Day mobilization ([link removed]) .

Neither of tomorrow’s events are organized by Indivisible SF. However, we have aided with planning and will have contingents at both.

Here’s some important information you’ll need to know for tomorrow.

**
------------------------------------------------------------

** Two Separate Events
------------------------------------------------------------

**
------------------------------------------------------------

There will be a rally at 9:30 AM at the Philip Burton Federal Building at 450 Golden Gate Ave for federal employees and their supporters.

Then at 11 AM, there will be a rally and march at 16th & Mission. Gathering and opening remarks will happen at 16th & Mission. The march will proceed down Mission to 18th Street, where it will turn right on 18th Street and proceed to Dolores Park. In the park, there will be a rally.

If you want to go to both events, you can leave 450 Golden Gate Ave at around 10:30 AM to get to the Mission in time. BART will be the fastest and easiest way; you can get to Civic Center BART by walking straight down Larkin from the southeast corner of the Federal Building.

**
------------------------------------------------------------

** Safety and Nonviolence
------------------------------------------------------------

Both Labor Day events are peaceful and nonviolent. Please help keep it that way in your actions throughout the event.

We do not expect police presence at 450 Golden Gate Ave.

We expect some police presence at 16th & Mission, as the starting point has a stationary SFPD command unit and is passing close to Mission station.

Both events are taking place on a 1st Amendment basis. Both events will have safety monitors who will work to keep the event safe and engage with any police as needed and per their instructions.

Do not engage in any way with the police. Do not speak to them, wave anything at them, display any body language, and do not approach them. Pretend they are not there.

If a police officer approaches you with a question, say “Please speak to the police liaison”. Otherwise, follow standard police know-your-rights ([link removed]) practices.

It’s unlikely, but we may see agitators who want to start and film verbal confrontations. The best way you can thwart them is to ignore them. Don’t talk to them, yell at them, or anything else. Leave any engagement to the safety monitors in yellow hi-vis vests.

NEVER SIT DOWN AT A PROTEST MARCH OR RALLY. If you encounter anything that looks or feels unsafe, walk quickly, do not run, away from the area.

We are not anticipating any situations that exceed the regular risk of a nonviolent, peaceful protest. However, the risk of arrest at a protest is never zero, so if you absolutely cannot be arrested for any reason including immigration, do not come to the area. That includes the entire march route from 16th & Mission to Dolores Park, Civic Center Plaza, and 450 Golden Gate Ave.

We don’t know whether National Lawyers Guild SF have been apprised of either event. The hotline you should have on your person (on paper or written on your forearm) is 510-250-1700.

You may consider going with a buddy or a group. Arrive with them and leave with them. If you feel unsafe leaving, please find an event monitor in a yellow vest near the stage after dispersal and ask them for help.

There will be photography at this event, from friendly pro-bono photographers, press, and individuals. Your face may be photographed without your consent. Please be aware of this if you cannot be photographed.

** Restrooms
------------------------------------------------------------

Restroom access is limited at both events. We strongly encourage you to use the restroom before you arrive at the event, or step off the march route to use the bathroom at a business.

Keep in mind that on Labor Day, many businesses (including Philz Coffee) will be closed.

There is a public toilet at Civic Center Plaza, across from the Main Library. There is also a public toilet at 16th and Mission, near the police mobile command unit.

Dolores Park has public restrooms at the northwest corner of the park (near the J-Church stop) and at the southeast corner.

The following restrooms are unavailable for our purposes:

- The Asian Art Museum (generally requires a ticket)

- The Main Library (closed for Labor Day)

- City Hall (closed weekends, and would require going through security even if it were open)

We strongly encourage you to use the restroom before you head out.

------------------------------------------------------------

** Parking
------------------------------------------------------------

Several parking garages will be available on Monday. However, we are expecting a large attendance, so if you can take public transit, we recommend you do that.

There are several parking lots and garages in the Mission, particularly between 16th and Mission and Dolores Park, but be aware that the march will be moving through that area.

For the 450 Golden Gate Ave. rally, Civic Center Garage will be open and available. Enter the garage from McAllister or Larkin. ([link removed])

UC Law SF parking garage will be open and available. ([link removed])

------------------------------------------------------------

** Weather
------------------------------------------------------------

It is forecast to be very warm and sunny tomorrow.

We strongly encourage you to bring a shade hat, sunscreen, water, and comfortable shoes. Wear your hat and sunscreen to prevent sunburn, and drink your water to prevent dehydration. You’ll enjoy the event much more that way.

** ADA/Wheelchair Seating
------------------------------------------------------------

**
------------------------------------------------------------

We are not aware of any ADA/Wheelchair seating at either event.

If you see someone in a wheelchair trying to get through a crowd, please make way for them and let people around you know to make way for them.

** Food
------------------------------------------------------------

Be aware that due to Labor Day, many businesses will be closed. Bring a snack and water with you.

**
------------------------------------------------------------

** Thank you for coming!
------------------------------------------------------------

We deeply appreciate you choosing to spend your Labor Day in an act of resistance. Thank you.

Keep Fighting,
