Dear John,
From partisan gerrymandering to President Trump’s promise to end absentee voting, attacks on our democracy have been escalating across the country. While these national debates can sometimes feel distant, Maine voters are facing a direct threat this November with Ballot Question 1.
This September, I hope you’ll join us for a Lunch & Learn on defending Maine voters’ access to absentee voting. Members of the Save Maine Absentee Voting campaign will share what’s at stake, what this ballot question means for our state, and how we can take action together to protect the vote.
I hope to see you there!
— Maggie

Friday, September 26, 12-1 PM: Save Maine Absentee Voting: Question 1 and Protecting Access to the Ballot in Maine
Access to the ballot is essential for a healthy democracy. Join members of the Save Maine Absentee Voting Campaign to learn about Ballot Question 1. Designed to make absentee voting harder, Question 1 would eliminate the two busiest days of the absentee voting period, end ongoing absentee voting for older voters and voters with disabilities, and make it more difficult to request and return an absentee ballot. These changes would disproportionately impact older adults, voters with disabilities, and residents in rural communities.
The coalition is working statewide to educate voters, mobilize support, and defend Maine's accessible voting system. Hear about their strategy, the stakes for our democracy, and concrete ways you can take action to ensure all Maine residents can safely and securely cast their vote this November.
