My parents made incredible sacrifices to give my brother and I a better life. They uprooted their lives twice – from the Philippines to Zambia, and later from Zambia to Canada.

Their journey – one shared by many Canadian families – taught me the values of hard work, community, and resilience, and it’s those same values I carry with me every day as a Liberal MP.

It’s why I take seriously the responsibility to use my voice to stand up for people, families and communities who need it most across Canada.

And when MPs return to Parliament next month, I’ll be focused on that: building a stronger future and an economy that serves all Canadians.

But I can’t do it alone.
