As we approach our first end-of-month deadline since launching this campaign, I wanted to take a moment to tell you a little bit more about who I am and why I'm running.

I'm a fifth-generation Wisconsinite, anI'm a fifth-generation Wisconsinite, and the proud daughter of a union family. My mom was a speech therapist for special education students, and in the summer, I would often tag along to her classroom — being a buddy to her students by reading books or playing games, and learning firsthand the importance of patience and compassion.

My dad was an instructor at our local technical college helping adult students build the skills they needed for a better future — from ESL learners to formerly incarcerated folks working to get back on their feet. When his students couldn't attend class because of childcare, I'd step in to babysit so they could keep learning.

That's the house I grew up in: where hard work mattered, helping others mattered, and everyone deserved a fair shot. My dad always said, "Sometimes you need a hand, and sometimes you lend a hand."

Those values shaped everything in my life — from my early jobs waiting tables at Pizza Hut and Bakers Square to flipping nine Trump counties when I ran for office, to the way I'm raising my own son, Hartley, today.

I was raised to believe that when you see a problem, you roll up your sleeves and fix it. Now, I'm running for Lieutenant Governor because I believe government should reflect those same values. It should show up. It should help. It should work with people, not against them.

Tonight, we have the first real chance to show that a campaign built on those values has the strength to win.

So I have to ask: will you chip in before midnight to help us hit our first end-of-month goal? [[link removed]]
