Friends -

Elissa gave a speech recently on her vision for what she’s calling the Economic War Plan for America – a plan for Democrats to treat America's shrinking middle class as the greatest security threat facing our nation.

You can read about her Economic War Plan here.

Or watch this clip of the speech here.

Economic War Plan Twitter Video

This Economic War Plan aims not just to “fix” America's systems or nibble around the margins – but to rebuild it, by ruthlessly focusing on expanding the middle class in America. And, as Democrats, if we have to slaughter some sacred cows to do so, then so be it.

Look, Elissa knows we can do it. This isn’t the first hard moment we’ve had in our economy. And while we’re going through difficult, significant change, this is as good a moment as any to grab the reins, face the issues, and get to work.

Every other time our country has faced existential economic change, America has adapted and led the world. We look impossible in the face and make it possible. It’s what actually makes us great.

We can’t just point at Donald Trump every day and call out the bad things that he’s doing. We have to show a positive, affirmative vision of what you’re going to do if you’re in power.

America's biggest existential threat is *not* coming from overseas – it's the shrinking middle class here at home.

It's time for us to go on offense to fight for our country.

United States Senators often keep on fundraising after their election ends, but Elissa doesn't want to keep bombarding your inbox with fundraising requests.

What we will do is send you good, timely content – like this message. Stuff you might open without dread.

But she does hope you may consider making a small, monthly recurring contribution. Even just $5 or $10 – so we don't have to send those mass fundraising emails while Elissa is focused on her work as a Senator.
